So I am planning to start a diet/exercise thing on January 3, 2010. Why Jan. 3rd? It was kind of randomly chosen but also the day my vacation ends…
Actually, my sister and my mom are also joining the challenge. We are seeing who can lose the most in 6-weeks.
My plan: I am going to try out the Flat Belly Diet. It is in a lot of ways ‘restrictive’ and so in that vein not a lifetime eating plan–which on one hand scares me BUT I also know I have a bad relationship with food right now. I do not eat on a regular basis–basically I alternate between starving/binging–and the binges are mostly junk food.
On the Flat Belly Diet–it is four meals a day, each four hours a part. I need to learn that discipline. Also, to be fair to the diet, their are a lot of options (even a cookbook with yummy ideas in it)…but to start out…I am going with easy and consistent. I know I need to change the way I see food before I ‘enjoy’ it as much.
As for exercise…I am supposed to be training for a half-marathon in March but have totally slacked on that plan. So I am going to try to get outside and walk/run 3 days a week and exercise with Bob on the Biggest Loser Wii game 3 days a week (my sister is going to use Jillian)…giving myself one ‘skip’ day.
I am also committing to no STARBUCKS (and very limited dining out) for the 6 weeks…now that will be a real challenge as I do meet a friend there weekly…but I will be drinking water for a while.
I know I need to model for Silly Girl healthy eating habits…so she is my motivation for doing taking on this challenge.

What a great way to motivate yourself to get back to healthy eating! Doing it with family. Good luck on this new goal of yours!
I’ve been off my good eating for 2 weeks now, with the holidays. Really need to get back to it. Hate the water weight that attaches itself to me. I say that as if it were no fault of my own. lol
I started low carb the end of May and have lost 50+ lbs. I’m hoping to lose another 50 by the end of next May. I have Wii Fit and a Jillian video. Was thinking of purchasing a new exercise thing for Wii. Do you like the Biggest Loser one?
